Company Profile

Operating since 1992
Quercus was established in Jedwabne near Szczytno in 1992, in the area of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Olsztyn. At first, its business involved the production of chips for fibreboard and chipboard manufacturing. In 2005, the enterprise was transferred into a company, finally under the present name Quercus Sp. z o.o. Owing to the intense development of techniques used in obtaining renewable energy sources, Quercus became specialised in the manufacture of solid biofuel from timber for energy purposes. This biomass is purchased mostly by leading Polish environmentally-friendly power plants and CHP plants that produce energy in processes of direct combustion, gasification, and pyrolysis.
The dynamic development of the company, its modern machinery, and the developed network of customers, make it one of the leading producers of solid biofuel in Poland. Quercus has become one of the most recognisable suppliers of energy from renewable resources.
